The SNAT offers a comprehensive range of psychological, financial, and spiritual counselling services aimed at promoting the holistic well-being of teachers. The Union recognizes that teaching is a demanding profession and that educators may face personal, emotional, social, and financial challenges that can affect both their health and performance.
Through its Wellness Department, SNAT provides a safe, confidential, and supportive environment where members can seek guidance and counselling without fear of stigma or discrimination. These services assist teachers in managing issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, workplace pressure, and personal difficulties.
The Wellness Department has established partnerships with various institutions, including PSHAC, to strengthen support systems for teachers. These collaborations enable access to professional counselling, mental health awareness programs, wellness workshops, and educational resources that address mental health, emotional resilience, and work-life balance.
In addition, SNAT supports teachers facing financial distress, offering counselling on financial management, debt relief options, and referrals for emergency assistance in dire circumstances. Spiritual counselling is also available to support teachers’ moral and emotional strength, helping them maintain hope, purpose, and resilience during challenging times.
Through these initiatives, SNAT remains committed to safeguarding the mental, emotional, financial, and spiritual health of its members, ensuring that teachers are well-supported, valued, and empowered to continue serving the education sector effectively.
